"FREE MARKET AND CIVIL LIBERTIES THINK TANK SUGGESTS NEW NAMES FOR CONSERVATIVE PARTY"

The Libertarian Alliance, the radical free market and civil liberties think tank and pressure group, strongly welcomes the reported suggestions made by senior Conservative Party figures that the Party adopts a new name.

Libertarian Alliance Director, Dr Chris Tame commented:

"In a free market economy truthfulness in product labelling is essential if consumers are to make informed decisions. We thus enthusiastically welcome the media reports that senior Conservative Party figures are considering re-branding their party with a new name.

Not surprisingly, the strategic and tactical geniuses that have been running the party (into the ground) for so long have come up with such turkeys as: "Democrats", "New Democrats" and "Progress and Reform Conservatives".

The Libertarian Alliance is pleased to offer the party, at no charge for its business consultancy services, the following suggested names, all of which we feel capture the true character of the party under its post- Thatcher leadership:

Not the Conservative Party
The Conserved Nothing Party
The Con Party
Party U Don't Like
The Not Quite So Nasty Party
The Really Rather Nice Party, Actually
The Anything To Get Us Elected Party
The Useless Pragmatist Party
The Quisling Right Party
The Me Too Party
The Promises, Promises Party
The Don't Mention EU Withdrawal Party
The Don't Flog 'Em and Hang 'Em Party
The Any Slogan Will Do Party
The Stupid Party (Copyright: John Stuart Mill)"
